Once you enter the magnificent, mystic world of Skyrim, you cannot help but yield to the call of the wilderness. Among the multitude of quests, non-player characters and squalls of the Nords is the tongue of the dragons, the language of the setting. Skyrim dragon shouts are intriguing, addictive, and they produce the results you want to advance your game. So get communicating!

Skyrim dragon shouts – the uniqueness

The tongue of the dragons is unique in that there are few in the world of Skyrim even that can reproduce the Skyrim dragon shouts and use them to their advantage. The dragonborn have a natural ability to use the Skyrim dragon shouts. The central character during the gameplay should also be able to maximise the use of Skyrim dragon shouts to be able to make the best of it. Each utterance can have three words in it, the words in question being ‘words of power’. The Dragon Soul requires to be unlocked before the character can utter even a single word.

Now, why are those Skyrim shouts called words of power? Well, it is because each shout gives the character the power to intimidate the opponent in some way. A powerful shout might throw them away at a distance. Some shouts make the player really quick on his feet. The Dragonrend Shout has been known to take the player ahead in time, giving him an advantage over the dragon.

Skyrim dragon shouts – power of Thu’um

The use of dragon shouts is not available to the player right from the start. He has to traverse the quest of the Throat of the World after which he will have to go looking for the words of power. One of the instructors Arngeir can be asked, “Have you located any words of power” so that the player can begin his training in the Thu’um. When such words are located, the place can be added to the map.

Be careful to ask your Greybeard mentor the question in a thickly populated area. If luck favors the player, it is likely that a ‘letter from a friend’ is delivered to the player, and this could eventually lead him to a wordwall. Each word of power has to be located and learnt, and once the three are put together, it could be of use.

Skyrim dragon shouts – how the lingo works

The Skyrim dragon shouts are not only at the disposal of the player. There are other non-performing characters as well who might be using these shouts. Even Alduin, the dreaded destroyer of the world, has shouts that he uses to ask for resurrection of the long dead dragons.

Another shout is known to bring a shower of meteors from the sky. Most of these shouts, “Bex” among them, are unavailable to the player. With the help of Arngeir, the player can learn the Dragon lingo and use it to his own advantage. As the only Greybeard who can speak both human and dragon, Arngeir is a valuable asset that the player should make the most of.
